Woman Injured in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Alamo Street and East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

Austin, Texas (May 20, 2019) – A woman was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver while riding a scooter early Saturday morning in Austin.

According to police, the collision occurred at about 12:45 a.m. May 18, on Alamo Street and East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Police said a woman was riding a scooter when she was struck by a white Kia sedan. The driver of the sedan fled the scene after the incident.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police later located the driver traveling eastbound on MLK Jr. Boulevard after Chicon Street. The driver was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid.
