Mario Alberto Killed, 1 Hospitalized After Amarillo Car Crash on U.S. 87

Amarillo, Texas (May 20, 2019) – Four people were killed and one injured when two vehicles collided head-on Saturday night in Amarillo, as per a local news source.

The deadly crash took place around 11:25 p.m. May 18, on U.S. Highway 87.

Police said a Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Mario Alberto, was traveling on the highway when it collided head-on with a Chevrolet Camaro.

Both Alberto and the driver of the Avalanche along with a 9-year-old and 5-year-old children, were all pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A 13-year-old girl was severely injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said alcohol may have played a role in the wreck.

The investigation is still ongoing.
