Eladia Rodriguez Killed, Isidro Rodriquez Injured in Olton Traffic Accident on US 70

Olton, Texas (May 23, 2019) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victims of a deadly semi-truck collision that occurred on Wednesday morning in Hale County.

The crash happened on US 70, just east of the Lamb County line at about 10:30 a.m. May 22.

DPS said Isidro Rodriquez, 80, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado when he collided with a 2007 Freightliner and left the roadway, crashing through a barbed wire fence.

A passenger in the Silverado, Eladia Rodriguez, 79, was killed in the wreck. Isidro was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the big rig was unhurt.

The DPS is investigating the incident.
