Christian Barrios ID’d as Man Killed in North Austin Car Crash on I-35 near Braker Lane

Austin, Texas (May 15, 2019) – The man who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision early Sunday morning in North Austin has been identified as Christian Barrios, 21, according to the police.

The wreck happened in the 11000 block of northbound Interstate 35 near the Braker Lane exit shortly after 4 a.m. May 12.

Police said a 2007 GMC Yukon was heading south in the northbound lanes of I-35 when it collided head-on with an oncoming white 2018 Hyundai Elantra.

The Elantra was being driven by Barrios.

Police said Barrios was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The two occupants of the Yukon were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Austin Police Department is investigating the incident.
