6-Year-Old Boy Injured in Bastrop County Pedestrian Crash on U.S. 290

Elgin, Texas (June 12, 2019) – A young boy was airlifted after being hit by an 18-wheeler in Bastrop County Tuesday afternoon, according to a police report.

The crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, on U.S. Highway 290 near Elgin.

According to investigators, an Elgin ISD school bus driver had stopped to let students alight when an 18-wheeler went around the bus and struck a student .

The 6-year-old boy was flown to a hospital with unknown injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
